Glass & Acrylic

Choosing the right glazing is crucial but it’s not always easy. There are three factors to consider: aesthetics, conservation and budget. Below are some of the main types of glass we use and we can guide you to make the right choice.

Acrylic Glazing

A safer option than glass and some insurers insist on it for higher value works. We use three types of acrylic: regular acrylic, UV protective abrasion-resistant acrylic, and museum-grade acrylic with UV and low-reflective qualities.

UV Glass

This conservation-grade UV glass filters out 99.9% of UV rays, which can cause colours to fade and paper to age.

Low-reflect Glass (also known as

anti-reflective glass)

Our low-reflect glass reflects just 1% of light (regular glass reflects 8%) and filters out 70% of UV rays. Sometimes you can’t even tell the glass is there.

Museum Glass

A premium product used to preserve artwork in the long term. This low-reflect glass provides the highest UV protection of 99.9%.
